A new appliance usually shows up before anyone figures out what to do with the old one. Refrigerators, freezers, washers and dryers are heavy, awkward on stairs and through doorways, and the ones with refrigerant can't simply go in the trash. MAGNO removes them from wherever they sit, the kitchen, the laundry room, the garage or the backyard, and hauls them away the same day when the schedule allows.
Refrigerators, freezers and AC units hold refrigerant that has to be recovered before the metal is recycled. We take them to the county's designated area for refrigerant appliances, and we don't charge extra for them.
If you'd rather handle it yourself, here are the real options in unincorporated Polk County: the county collects furniture and appliances once a month on a set day, placed within 3 feet of the curb by 6 a.m.; the North Central Transfer Station in Auburndale takes refrigerators and freezers, emptied, by the ton; and the Northeast Landfill convenience center in Haines City does not take refrigerators or freezers. City residents should check their own city's pickup rules. When the curb isn't an option, or the appliance is upstairs, call us.
